Cerrudo Services provided the design and installation to replace the Base Wide Fire Alarm at the US Coast Guard Training Center. The current fire alarm system was unreliable and requires replacement because of its age. The work encompassed 38 buildings and included 23 new fire alarm control panels with new radio communications interface, 15 new radio communications interface with existing panels, new smoke and heat detectors, duct detectors, unit flow switches, pull stations, horns and strobes and addressable relay monitor modules. A central station supervisor system was installed at new Police Building 230.
The new design required investigating all the spaces in the different buildings to verify that the existing fire alarm installation matched the existing as-built drawings. Existing drawings with detailed site investigation data were compiled to provide a comprehensive and accurate new fire alarm design. The design of the new system included fire alarm panels, all input and output devices, device wiring, radio interface, floor plans showing locations of fire alarm devices, panels and radio systems.
